“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
Art is incredible – it starts with an idea, with some sort of creativity. It might take days and weeks or even years until this wee idea becomes bigger and you feel the urge to let it out. And again it takes time – and sometimes tears and sweat - to bring it to life. You will never be that close to your art as you are while making it. And you will never be so close to yourself. While painting or waiting for the perfect moment to take a photo you become one with all the powers of creativity that are beyond all our imagination. Once an idea becomes a piece of art and you know there is nothing more to add or to take away the magic doesn’t stop. Because sharing art with other people, sharing different ways of seeing the world and feeling and thinking is a new creative process, which can hardly be described. I may not know you and you may not know me, but when we share art and are open to be touched by art something deep down in us connects in various ways and changes us.
“The artist must create a spark before he can make a fire and before art is born, the artist must be ready to be consumed by the fire of his own creation.”
I am a hobbyist, I enjoy painting, drawing and taking photos. Unfortunately there’s hardly time for doing art stuff at the moment, because I’m working on my thesis – but I’m lucky, cos the topic’s got to do with history of art and I think a lot about the theories of art and what it means to mankind.
To me art means everything. To see people making and sharing, enjoying it, is just awesome!
